Schedule send & undo send

Undo Send and Send Later both wait before sending starts. Neither recalls a message after the provider has accepted it.

Settings → General → Undo Send timer lists Off, 5, 10, 20, and 30 seconds. Off is the default: send starts immediately. The saved value stays on this Mac.

When a delay is on, full compose and compact compose hold the send and show a Sending in N seconds… toast with Undo. Undo cancels the pending send and can reopen the draft. After sending starts, Primail cannot pull the message back.

Inline reply does not use Undo Send.

See Undo the last action.

In full compose, open Send Later next to Send. Presets (local clock):

  • Tomorrow morning — 9:00
  • Tomorrow evening — 18:00
  • This weekend — Saturday 9:00
  • Next week — next Monday 9:00
  • A custom date and time

The row is stored on this Mac in Outbox. Open Outbox from the sidebar.

Cancel works while the row is still waiting or has failed. It does not stop a send that has already started.

Retry appears when the row shows an error. Use it for a failed wait. Do not retry a send whose result is unknown.

Editing means cancel and compose again; there is no in-place reschedule editor that keeps the same row.

Settings → Composer → Send Later only jumps to Settings → Scheduling. Preset times are not editable there.

Scheduled sends run while Primail is open. If the app is quit at the chosen time, the send runs after the next launch. There is no closed-Mac background send and no Primail Cloud relay to another device.

Send Later keeps the files with the scheduled message on this device so the send can run after a restart.

MCP email_send accepts optional RFC 3339 send_at. That still needs Primail running where the command is handled. There is no primail_send_message tool. See the MCP tool reference.
