macOS desktop first
The desktop app uses Tauri 2 + React on macOS. Linux and Windows are source packaging targets. iOS and Android are future work.
Internal macOS preview
A local-first email client for macOS, with CLI and MCP peers over one Rust core. Other platforms are source targets or future work. There is no public App Store listing yet.
Most email apps treat automation as a bolt-on. Primail keeps local IMAP/SMTP mail and explicit CLI/MCP tooling on one Core so a person and a user-configured agent can call the same operations.

Your agents, your tools
CLI and MCP expose mail operations to agents you configure. Primail does not sell a hosted consumer AI service. Those agents may send mail data to providers you choose; setup depends on your actual tooling.
Local multi-account mail
Connect standards-compliant IMAP/SMTP providers. Mail is cached on the device for reading and search. Account roles can separate personal, managed, and receive-only inboxes.
Privacy with real boundaries
New network mail goes to your mail provider. Cached and local work does not need a Primail cloud account. Remote images, avatars, and user-configured agents can send data off-device. Passwords use the platform credential store on macOS.
The approved launch direction is a full trial followed by a one-time purchase, with the App Store as the sole official Apple sales and public distribution channel when a release is authorized. No subscription catalog is offered. Price, trial length, license, device, and upgrade terms are not published here. Developer ID builds are internal development and testing only.
Start from availability and system requirements for platform and network facts. Automation interfaces points to CLI and MCP instead of a local mail REST service. Mail and configuration sync separates provider IMAP from unavailable Primail Cloud identity.
