How spam is handled
Primail does not run its own spam classifier. The provider’s Junk or Spam mailbox is the destination. The app adds a move verb and an optional blocked-sender list on this Mac.
The Junk mailbox
Section titled “The Junk mailbox”In Smart mode, unified Junk is the spam destination. Classic mode shows the account’s junk folder under whatever name the server listed.
Mail appears there because the provider put it there, or because you marked it as spam.
Mark as spam
Section titled “Mark as spam”Select a conversation and press ⇧1, or use the overflow Mark as spam action.
Primail moves the conversation to the account’s Junk folder.
That is a folder move. The toolbar button does not call a
separate provider training API. MCP email_spam_report exists
for agents; it is not the GUI button.
Not spam
Section titled “Not spam”In Junk, the same control reads Not spam. It moves the conversation back toward Inbox.
Blocked senders
Section titled “Blocked senders”Settings → Inbox → Blocked senders lists addresses you have blocked on this account. Block from the message menu when the confirm step is offered.
There is no domain allow-list under Composer, and no VIP rule that pulls a sender out of Junk on the next sync. Priority senders only affect list grouping. Gatekeeper can block a domain for unknown senders; that is not an allow-list.
Blocked-sender state is local to this Mac and account. It is not copied by a Primail cloud account.
Newsletters
Section titled “Newsletters”Focused List may group newsletters and notifications using headers and address heuristics. That is not Spam. Marking a newsletter as spam does not remember a List-Id rule.
Agents
Section titled “Agents”Use email_spam and email_unspam. See the
MCP tool reference.
