Pin, Snooze, and Set Aside

Three local verbs keep mail nearby without treating them as provider folders.

VerbKeyWhat you see
PinDStays visible; Pinned in Smart sidebar
Set AsideGLeaves the inbox list; opens from the Set Aside bubble
SnoozeSOpens a time picker; Snoozed in Smart sidebar

These states live on this Mac. They are not copied by a Primail cloud account.

D toggles pin on the focused conversation (every member when grouping is on). Right-click also offers Pin.

Pin is a flag on this Mac. Primail does not store a provider pin for it. Smart sidebar Pinned is a filter on loaded rows.

Settings → Appearance → When pinned email is archived is Keep in Pins or Remove from Pins.

G adds the conversation to a pile on this Mac. The messages stay in Inbox on the server. They drop out of the inbox list until you take them back from the Set Aside bubble and panel.

Set Aside is not a Smart sidebar folder and not a provider mailbox. Finish the mail with Done, or take it off the pile from the panel.

There is no set_aside MCP tool.

S opens the picker. It does not snooze until you pick a time.

Presets (local clock):

  • Later today — the start of the hour three clock hours ahead (10:45 becomes 13:00), not three elapsed hours
  • Tomorrow — 9:00
  • This weekend — Saturday 9:00
  • Next week — next Monday 9:00
  • A custom date and time

Primail hides the row on this Mac and waits. The wake runs while Primail is open. If Primail is quit, the wake runs after the next launch. It does not run on another device.

Settings → Scheduling lists those presets. Changing the preset times in Settings is not available.

Smart sidebar Snoozed is a filter on loaded rows, not a provider Snoozed folder.

I flags the conversation. Smart sidebar Flagged is the matching filter.

  • Read tonight: Snooze to Later today or a custom time, and leave Primail running if the time matters.
  • Active work you want off the inbox list: Set Aside.
  • Keep at hand in Inbox: Pin.
